I click on the “Upgrade” link and it would not do much at all. Just say “downloading”. I review the help info over at http://www.wordpress.org and find that maybe I need to deactivate my plugins. I deactivate the plugins and I get the message “unpacking core” and nothing else. Now I am really scratching my head because it makes no sense. I see someone post that I needed to edit my .htaccess file which I did. The info had a “space” in the line that I needed to add. I removed the space and saved the file but it still did the same thing. After reading on some more I left it alone. I came on to my computer this morning and tinkered with it again. This time I deactivated my plugins again and left the “space” in the line that it was speaking about and it worked. I found a list that was compiled that stated “Upgrade confirmed to work but with caveats”. I do not think it is much of a caveat to add in 1 line of text.
So my page is up to 2.7.1 and no more prompts for upgrade 🙂
Now on to my workshop today that I am hosting. Should be fun indeed! I am ready hope that everyone else is ready as well!
